Configuring your Windows XP FireWall

 

Please Note you must have Windows XP Service Pack 2 installed on your computer in order to enable the firewall.

  1. Go under the Start Menu to Control Panel.
    Start to Control Panel


  2. Click on Network Connections.

  3. Right click on the Local Area Connection and go to Properties.
    Go to Properties


  4. Click on the Advanced tab, and click on Settings.
    Click on Settings


  5. Make sure that there is a dot in the On (recommended).
    firewall on


  6. Click OK


Your firewall should be enabled and running. If you have any questions please contact the HelpDesk at x6500.
