TheThe Mac OS X personal firewall protects your computer from unauthorized access by monitoring all incoming network traffic. When you enable the personal firewall in Mac OS X, all inbound connections are denied except for those that you explicitly permit.

  1. Under the Apple Menu go to System Preferences
    System Preferences

  2. Under the Internet & Network click on Sharing
    Sharing

  3. Click on the Firewall Tab, and then click the Start Button.
    Start

  4. When you have completed the screen should look like this.
    Finished

Your Mac OS 10.2 (and higher) firewall should be on and properly functioning. If you have any questions please call the HelpDesk at x6500
