Configuring Outlook Express for LDAP

Add Bethel Email Directory to Outlook Express

• To add Bethel's LDAP directory to Outlook Express:
• Click on Tools from the main menu in Outlook Express.
• Click on Accounts from the pull down menu.
• Click on the Add button then select Directory Service.
• In the Internet directory service LDAP field type: ldap.bethel.edu and then click the Next button.



• Click the Yes option for "Do you want to check addresses using this directory service?
• Click the Next and then the Finish buttons. This will return you to the accounts page.
• Double click on ldap.bethel.edu in the main field.



• Click on the Advanced tab and then type dc=bethel,dc=edu into the field titled Search Base:



• Click the OK button, then the Close button.
  
  
• To access Bethel's LDAP directory, open the address book and then click the Find People button from toolbar.
  
  
• Enter the name of the person that you are searching for into the Name: field and then click Find Now.
