Account Deactivation Policy

Student Account Deactivation

All students automatically receive a Bethel Community Account (BCA). This account controls access to e-mail, personal webserver space, BlackBoard, Student Academic Information, Windows fileserver storage, and other resources controlled by the Bethel Authentication System.

Student accounts are maintained until the student is no longer enrolled at which point the accounts are deactivated (locked) and then later removed after a waiting period.

Students that have completed their course work, but need their account to remain active to complete additional requirements (e.g. CGCS students working on a thesis) need to contact their program office for an extension.

Graduates (alumni) are eligible for a lifetime "@bethel.edu" email address. An email will be sent to eligible accounts before the account would be closed to allow the option to keep the address.
