how to become wireless This article is no longer maintained because how students connect to the wireless network has changed. In particular the OS versions prior to Macintosh OSX 10.3.9 and Microsoft Windows XP do not contain support for 802.1x, which is the authentication and encryption method that is used on Bethel's network. However, the instructions for connecting are still below for those who wish to view them but ITS does not guarantee that they will work nor will we support it if there are issues. For the latest network configuration information please see KB298.

Here you can find all the information you need to get your computer connected to the wireless network at Bethel College. Currently there is wireless coverage at North Village, Bethel College Library, Bethel Seminary Library and the Market dining area. If you live in North Village, wireless is the ONLY option to connect to the Bethel Network and the Internet.

HOW TO BECOME WIRELESS

  1. Minimum System Requirements
    Verify your computer has the necessary requirements to be supported on Bethel's wireless network.

  2. What to Purchase
    Learn what type of wireless equipment you need to have to work with Bethel's wireless network.

  3. Wireless Configuration Guides
    After you've installed the necesarry wireless components, learn how to configure them to access Bethel's wireless network. If you are not sure what operating system your computer has, please check out Determining Your Operating System.
