Test Scanning
The following instructions explain the process for automatic grading ( test scanning) of multiple choice exams at Bethel.
-
Where do I get forms to use for multiple choice tests?
- Answer sheets (scantron forms #16432 for 100 questions and #16482
for 120 questions) should be picked up from AC248 or in the Information Commons in the University Library.
Pam Tanem (AC248) or an IC Tech Assistant can help you find the forms and
give you the right number and type that you need. Your name and
the number of forms needs to be recorded along with your budget
number. Your department will be charged for the forms.
-
What instructions should I give to students?
- Students need to use number 2 pencils
- If you want scores back alphabetically, you must use the Form 16482-full sheet form and students must fill in the ovals for their name.
- Have students put their ID number on the form (or other identification
as provided/required by the instructor) and fill in the ovals with
their ID number. If you want the scores
and data to be sorted by ID, then
have students fill in the number right justified in the ID
slot and then fill in the 0 ovals to the left of the ID number (or
PO number or whatever ID number you use).
-
How do I get the test forms processed (computer graded)?
-
How will Scores and Exam sheets be returned to me?
- Results will be returned via e-mail as an Acrobat file (pdf)
to your academic e-mail box.
- Scanned test sheets will be returned to your Bethel PO box.
- The turnaround time will typically be less than 24 hours.
- email infocom@bethel.edu if you have concerns or questions or call the IC tech desk at X2376.
