Telecommunications Tools for Conferencing & Teaching

Speakerphone:

• Primarily used when two or more persons are at one location calling another.

• There are two speakerphones available for Faulty, Staff and Students. They can be set up in any class room or conference room at the college and seminary.

Audio Conference Bridge:

• Primarily used when Multiple persons at multiple locations need to talk to each other.
• Bethel College and Seminary has one audio conference bridge that can make one 15-way conference call and our Telephone system can make two 8-way conference calls all simultaneous.

• The audio conference bridge can be set up in multiple ways and ten simultaneous conferences and sub conferences.

  • Automatic call In: This is where each caller calls in, and the system answers and put them in a conference automatically. Note: Only one automatic audio conference can be placed at a time.
  • Pass code: When each caller calls in, they enter a pass code, they are then put in the correct conference.
  • Attendant: An attendant answers the call and controls where each caller in placed and is standing by to assist the conference when needed. If sub conferences are to be used, an attendant is needed.

Compressed Video Conference:

• Primarily used to place a videoconference call to one or more locations. Note: a video bridge is used for multiple sites.
• There are two systems at the Seminary to be used by Bethel College and Seminary Faculty, Staff and Students.

Telecommunication would prefer a 48-hour notice for scheduling our systems. The Videoconference system may need a longer notice, because of room availability.
