    Do not run the
Default Scan after installation as it does not do an entire scan – we will run a complete scan after the installation.

If you are connected to the internet, choose to
Run AutoUpdate Now.

If you are not connected to the Internet

How to Run a Complete System Scan

Click Start -> Programs -> Network Associates -> VirusScan Console.

Scan Drive ‘C’ and click Start.

This process will take a long time.

If the scanner encounters a virus on your computer, it will try to clean it. If it cannot clean it, it will ask you if you want to delete it. Deleting the file may cause data loss or system damage, but is recommended if the file cannot be cleaned.
When the scanner completes scanning drive C, close the Virus Scan Console.

Virus Scan is configured to AutoUpdate itself every Thursday at noon. Please have your computer turned on and connected to the Internet at this time to allow this process to complete weekly.
If you are not on campus, manual update instructions follow.

Manually Updating your Virus Definition Files

Click Start -> Programs -> Network Associates -> VirusScan Console.

Click the
AutoUpdate (circled in green) item.
Click
Start (circled in red).

This window pops up and eventually finishes.
